Mbali's "All Access" to three times the fun

When All Access Mzansi returned for its current season a lot had changed. Former hosts ProVerb, Pabi Moloi and Nandi Mngoma were replaced by funky new presenters Nomzamo Mbatha, Anga Makubalo (Naakmusiq) and Mbali Nkosi who, though an unlikely trio, seem to work well together.
The biggest star has to be Mbatha who first cut her teeth on Isibaya after losing out to Nomuzi Mabena in the MTV VJ Search. She turned her lemons into lemonade and began making strides in her acting career. This show takes her back to her previous incarnation, as a presenter. She has a bubbly personality and knows how to articulate herself in front of people. On All Access Mzansi, Mbatha usually takes trips into the field to interview people who are making news in the entertainment industry. Given that she has been in numerous TV, film and music productions, Mbatha is a huge drawcard for the show.
Then there is Makubalo, who is also a multifaceted up-and-coming artist. His first big break was playing the spoiled brat, MJ, on Generations. He was part of the group of cast members who had a salary dispute with the show’s creator, Mfundi Vundla. As with his compatriots, it was unclear who was going to make it after their departure. In a leap of faith, Makubalo went into music and made it big thanks to the help of the likes of DJ Tira. He goes by the moniker Naakmusiq and he is really successful in that line of work. However, presenting is a different beast and often Makubalo, who is based in the studio, seems to struggle to speak effortlessly to viewers. There is a huge possibility he reads off an autocue but he comes across as unsure and rigid. This is the first time we have seen him presenting and perhaps he will improve with time.
Mbali is a hustler. She, like Mbatha, is also a field presenter. The first time we saw her was in the hit drama, Rockville. She played a prostitute who was trying to lead a normal love life. She then made the cut and became a contestant on Big Brother Mzansi, and went into the finals. When she left that show, she then became much more noticeable in the entertainment industry and it was only a matter of time before she would get a gig like this. Thanks to her bubbly nature, Nkosi thinks on her feet and is often carrying Makubalo when he fumbles.
The trio is here to supply us with the freshest news in Mzansi and so far they are doing a sterling job.
All Access Mzansi airs every Friday at 7pm on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161).
